I have been attending Conductive Education for more than ten years for my MS.
The best thing about CE is the staff. Everyone is very positive and always has something good to say about my efforts. Whenever I am discouraged about my performance, the conductor will have observed something helpful to tell me, which gives me the confidence and determination to keep trying.
The CE program can be difficult. I am asked to work on an activity that is challenging for me and when I master it I feel successful and proud. The conductor is always thinking of new ways to tackle issues and trying various strategies to ensure success.
I continue to work on CE activities when I come home. I tell the staff what I have been doing and what went well and what was tough. We then work together to modify the program and set realistic goals.
I am convinced that CE has kept me mobile and independent. The class helps me to maintain my motivation and willingness to improve my skills. It is hard work, but I look forward to attending every week.
